Volunteer day in Whistler

Whistler, we have a very special day planned for you, and YOU are invited!

Join us on July 10th at the Train Wreck trailhead. We’ll be removing some smallflower touch-me-not, a pesky invasive that displaces native plants. Support nature by joining us for an invasive plant removal!

  • WHEN: Wednesday, July 10th, 4:00-6:00pm
  • WHERE: Train Wreck trailhead (you can park at the nearby car park), or ride your bike!
  • HOW MUCH: it’s free!
  • WHO’S INVITED: everyone (that means you!)

FAQ’s

  • WHAT TO BRING: Please come dressed for the weather, in sturdy shoes, and don’t forget your water bottle!
    • We will have gardening gloves for everyone to borrow.
  • IS THIS KID FRIENDLY? Absolutely! Children who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join.
  • CAN I BRING MY DOG? Sure, as long as you are a responsible dog owner! Note that the same rules apply as in other Whistler parks: dogs must be leashed unless in designated off-leash areas, and you must pick up after your dog.
  • DON’T KNOW LOCAL PLANTS? Not a problem! We’ll teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll come away with neat new local knowledge.
  • ANY OTHER QUESTIONS? Simply email us!

Give back to the natural spaces you love by helping us get rid of the nasty invasive plants in Whistler. We hope to see you there!

Feeling lucky?

This summer, we’re gifting a $100 gift voucher to 21 Steps to one of our lovely SSISC volunteers at random, by lucky draw. Come along on July 10th to be entered into the draw!

Spread the love
