Learn how to identify & prevent the spread of aquatic invasives

If left to invade, aquatic invasive plants and animals can quickly take over a waterway. This can reduce critical habitat for native species, limit recreational activities, and impact real-estate value of nearby land.

It doesn’t matter if you plan on heading out on the water solo, with your household or with a group you are leading. If you plan on spending time floating through our local waterways or soaking up the sun beachside this summer, we need your help!

About the course

In just 30 minutes, you will learn about 9 different aquatic invasive species – how to identify them, their impacts and current distribution within the Sea to Sky, and how you can protect our community by preventing further spread. The Aquatic Invasives 101 course is completely free, online, and family-friendly.

If you have any questions about the course, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the SSISC team.
