What is Don’t Let It Loose?
Don’t Let it Loose is a campaign aimed at educating current and prospective owners about the harmful effects of releasing exotic pets into BC’s wild ecosystems. Learn more about the campaign and BC’s pet invasives here.
How can I help?
Choose to support local.
- Consider shopping for your pet supplies at Whistler Happy Pets, Peaks Family Pets or Firetail Pets (for those of you in Squamish).
- Support Pemberton Animal Wellbeing Society, a local shelter that cares for the well-being of not just our pets but the local ecosystem too!
Report BC’s common invasive pets.
- Learn about some of BC’s pet invasives, and report your sightings to SSISC.
- Common pet invasives include the red eared slider turtle, goldfish, and the European rabbit.
