These invasive species are on our wanted list – they’re known culprits in Whistler for causing damage to the environment.

Through years of experience in invasive species management in the Whistler area, and consultation with local partners and experts, SSISC developed a list of 5 target invasive species specifically for Whistler. They were selected due to their prevalence, impact, and ease of mechanical removal.

What should you do if you see these species?
Remove them yourself
- Before you start removing, make sure you are on public land (or have owner approval), and follow the removal instructions outlined in the posters below.
- You can also visit each plant’s species profile page to learn more about the different invasive species.
- Remember to always dispose of invasive plant material in the garbage and do NOT compost.
- Lastly, don’t be a stranger! We love hearing from you. Feel free to send us photos or tell us about your experience!

- If you come across any of these 5 species and cannot remove them yourself, please report the sighting to SSISC so we can track infestations.
