Meet the Team

It’s time to meet three more of our team members – read on to get to know them a little bit better!

Catherine Agnew

Field Crew Lead Hand
Where are you from?

I’m originally from Kemptville, Ontario – a small town outside of Ottawa.

Woah! That’s a neat photo. What’s the story?

It’s of me, in lot 7, about to go skiing. In the winter I ski practically every day – it’s definitely my favourite hobby/activity to do. I somehow never get bored or tired of it.

What has been your favourite part of working for SSISC so far?

I love getting to work outside and travel throughout the entire Sea to Sky corridor. Also, learning about new plants.

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off in the summer?

Going mountain biking, camping, or to the farmers’ market!

You get $1 000 000 tomorrow! What will you do with it??

Start planning a vacation all over the world!

Clare Greenberg

Executive Director
Where are you from?

Sydney, Down Under mate!

Woah! That’s a neat photo. What’s the story?

This is me having a lovely time sea kayaking around Desolation Sound on a week-long adventure. We ate fresh oysters right off the rocks, camped amongst the seals, and swam in the ocean…. what a gorgeous part of BC!

What has been your favourite part of working for SSISC so far?

The people. I’ve really enjoyed building relationships with partners, funders, and especially the incredible group of fabulous, hard-working, dedicated individuals who make up the network of regional invasive species organizations of BC.

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off in the summer?

A cup of tea in the sun on the patio, a paddleboard and swim at the lake, wine and cheese with friends, and a nap in the hammock! Heaven 😊

You get $1 000 000 tomorrow! What will you do with it??

Pay off the mortgage, buy an EV, and share the rest with family and friends.

Danielle Manson

Field Crew Member
Where are you from?

I grew up in Guelph, Ontario, but moved to Squamish from Quadra Island, where I spent the last 5 years kayak-guiding.

Woah! That’s a neat photo. What’s the story?

In this photo I’m exploring a secret little canyon on Quadra Island and being silly. P.s, although this spot is a secret, I may be tempted to draw a map in exchange for chocolate.

What has been your favourite part of working for SSISC so far?

My favorite part of the job is getting to be outside in beautiful landscapes with awesome people, making a difference for important ecosystems. I also love that I am always learning new things about plants!

What’s your favourite way to spend a day off in the summer?

My favorite way to spend time off is camping and nature-nerding. I love the feeling of sleeping outside after a long trek, waking up to the sound of the birds and then identifying the insects on my tent.

You get $1 000 000 tomorrow! What will you do with it??

I would plan a backpacking trip (country to be determined)! I would also take more courses on climbing and mountaineering – and then probably put the rest of it away to eventually buy a small piece of land.
