Any plans for Earth Day 2024?
SSISC and the Squamish River Watershed Society are inviting everyone (yes, that means you) to an invasive plant pull and free weaving workshop!
- WHEN: April 20th, 1:00-4:00pm
- WHERE: Rose Park (you can park across from the Adventure Centre), or ride your bike there!
- HOW MUCH: it’s free!
We’ll be pulling invasive plants from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, but we hope you’ll stay till 4:00 pm for a special basket weaving workshop using some of the plants we pulled!
FAQ’s
- WHAT TO BRING: Please come dressed for the weather, in sturdy shoes, and don’t forget your water bottle!
- We will have gardening gloves for everyone to borrow.
- IS THIS KID FRIENDLY? Absolutely! Children who are accompanied by an adult are welcome to join.
- CAN I BRING MY DOG? Sure, as long as you are a responsible dog owner! Note that the same rules apply as in other Squamish parks: dogs must be leashed unless in designated off-leash areas, and you must pick up after your dog.
- DON’T KNOW LOCAL PLANTS? Not a problem! We’ll teach you everything you need to know, and you’ll come away with neat new local knowledge.
