In this month’s edition of Dreamteam Thursday, we introduce you to Claudel, Field Crew Lead Hand, and Micaela, Education & Outreach Lead Hand.
Claudel Dupuis-Bourret
What is your favourite outdoor activity?
Snowboarding, definitely. The mountains here are amazing, and they are one of the main reasons why I decided to establish myself in the Sea to Sky corridor. I found snowboarding to be a very freeing sport, especially when you are riding the nice fluffy stuff! Also, when you go a little out of the way from the crowd you get to see some pretty breathtaking scenery that can make you feel grounded and vulnerable at the same time.
What are you most excited about this summer?
This might sound cheesy, but I am excited to work for SSISC this summer. Since I have graduated from the Fish, Wildlife and Recreation diploma at BCIT, I have been hoping to find employment in the Sea to Sky corridor. I was pretty thrilled when I got hired for the field crew lead hand position. I get to be outside almost everyday, see some amazing places and work with a team of fun and knowledgeable people.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
I don’t know; maybe it spotted some knotweed on the other side?
Micaela Anguita
What is your favourite outdoor activity?
Skiing, because going fast is awesome and snow is soft if you fall.
What are you most excited for this summer?
I am most excited about finding new places to explore and all the trips I have planned.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
It crossed the road to survey for more knotweed.
